2011 Holiday part 4. Venice, Florence and Pisa.

We had a couple of days in Rome then a very long day travelling south (part 3) before travelling by train the next day to Venice.

Stepping out of the station right on to the walkway with the Grand Canal right there was a fantastic start to our three day stay before moving on to Florence again for three days stay before heading back to Rome then home.

Above the bridge is the Medici’s private walkway from their a palace to the Doges Palace. It was built so that they did not have to walk amongst the peasants.
This is a replica of the David at the town hall in the square. We saw the original in the museum – couldn’t that photographs there.

There is a hanging Chandelier which sways on windy days and was said to be the inspiration for Galileo inventing the first Pendulum Clock.

Back to Rome for our last night before heading to Hong Kong then Perth. We found this lovely family restaurant on Trip Advisor near our hotel.
