2011 Holiday stopover in Hong Kong on the way to Perth.

It was a long holiday starting in Scotland, down to England then over to Italy. We certainly packed a lot in. When we stopped in Hong Kong it was meant to be a wind down then we realised we had never been to Macau. We had a lovely day but a hair raising trip on the boat back to HK as the city was going into imminent typhoon category. We just made the rough trip back and managed to get back to our hotel before the city went into shutdown.

Met an American tourist travelling on his own. He had been in Hong Kong decades before. He heard us talking and started a conversation with us, he did seem to want some company. We had a nice time and found a lovely small restaurant for lunch.
A replica Rialto bridge. We spent a few hours walking around the casinos, no gambling, I am not a gambling dreamer. Really glad we left when we did.

The following pictures show Hong Kong the next day around 12.45pm. I have never seen empty streets in HK. No buses, no trains, and no underground running. We went out just after the all clear was given even though they encouraged people to stay in until 1 pm.
