2011 Holiday part 4. Venice, Florence and Pisa.

We had a couple of days in Rome then a very long day travelling south (part 3) before travelling by train the next day to Venice.

Stepping out of the station right on to the walkway with the Grand Canal right there was a fantastic start to our three day stay before moving on to Florence again for three days stay before heading back to Rome then home.

2011 Holiday part 2 Scotland.

My main purpose in this trip was to scatter my mum and dads ashes at Loch Lomond. We organised for the family to meet there. The weather was horrendous. Fortunately we managed to get a break, when the rain stopped for about 30 minutes. After we spread the ashes we all went for lunch.

After spreading the ashes we spent a few days catching up with family and friends then we spent a few days just travelling around before leaving for Italy.

2010 My Big Family Holiday part 11

Singapore, where’s the snow?

It was the end of the holiday and everyone was tired. Singapore was nice and warm, maybe too hot given where we had been. we will be heading home tomorrow at the end of a Very Eventful 6 weeks. Hope you enjoyed our trip.

I have been to the top and it’s a FANTASTIC view.
I’m sure this is Clarke quay.
Linda and Laura at Raffles.
Me and Linda with a Singapore Sling. Laura’s a distance away but I don’t think it would be fair to swap drinks.
Linda at Clarke Quay.

2010 My Big Holiday Part 10

London 18th to 29th January. I can not even try to do our time there justice so have just added photos and commentary.

An interesting day walking around Hampton Court.
James at Piccadilly square.
At the banks of Themes with Big Ben in the background.
Love the lions at Trafalgar Square.
We climbed the bridge and then walked across it in both directions.
Laura, James and Jorja on the London Eye. Thanks to camera man, I think his name was Davit or David
James at traitor’s gate.
They all tried separately, no joy. Tried as a family but David was missing.
Boudica challenged the authority of whole Roman Empire
Linda standing at the very spot where Sir William Wallace stood when they put Scotland’s Greatest Hero on trial. They Found him guilty of defending his people. He was hung, drawn and quartered as a lesson to quell the Scots. Today his memory lives on in every Scottish person. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
London tower to the left and the bridge to the right.
Making our way towards London Tower.
Outside the Knights Templar church.
It was a challenge climbing to the top of St Paul’s. But it was more of a challenge stepping out and leaning against that ancient wall. Quite scary.
My favourite detective. Read all the books and have been to Baker Street 4 times. Yes I have the tie and the badge.
Our last night in London. Everything was going great until I went on the ice to help the kids. Ah their fine I will skate around. Ah head hits ice. I think I didn’t blackout but spent time in the medical tent. Note there were more people there than on the ice. 🤣🤣

2010 Big Family Holiday part 8. Liverpool and Bath. 10th to 13th January.

It’s hard to describe the drive from Edinburgh over the Pennines to Gretna Green then on to Liverpool.

As we approached the Pennines the road was closed. Just before we turned around a car came from the South, they said it was okay to pass. I was driving the first car. I could not see the road, it was white everywhere. I drove along the track of the other car. Thankfully no one came the other way. Was it scary? YOU BET.

In the museum’s Cavern.
Imagine all the People Sharing All the World.
A Silhouette of Jorja.
A morning walk. The snow travels with us.

2010 Big family holiday 2009-2010 part 7 Edinburgh 8th to 10th Jan.

After leaving Dalry, and because the weather was so bad and we could not drive up to the highlands, Laura, David and the kids went through to Edinburgh early. Linda and I flew to Belfast for two days to do some family history.

We arrived back in Edinburgh on the 8th, Laura and David did a ghost walk on the 9th. We visited the Castle, Mary Kings Close and walked all over the old town.

Edinburgh from the Castle Battlement.
Unlike the last time we knew where Grayfriers Bobby hid.
Where JK Rolands wrote The Harry Potter books.
